Working with these ladies, I know that great images and good times are sure to happen! I wasn't able to be on location with this shoot because I had a wedding later that afternoon but Anna and I were able to find a secure location (the parking lot of Common Market SouthEnd, ha!) to get it done!

Brittany's Southern and Sweet Bridal Portraits

I love when I get the chance to work with friends from college! This post is long overdue because I recently took on a new position at Laura Mercier and I've had a hectic schedule in between getting adjusted to my wonderful new job and freelance work.

Brittany and Brad tied the knot at The Legare-Waring House in Charleston, South Carolina May 26th.  The venue was beautiful and rich with culture, I felt like I had stepped on set for The Midnight in the Good of Good and Evil. Before the big day her bridals were taken at the same venue by Captured by Kate Photography. Everything turned out beautifully and I'm so happy I was able to be apart of it. We're all growing up now!

It's Wedding Season!

I'm so lucky that I've gotten to work with some stunning brides over the past two months along with one of my best friends Sunny of Themba Imagery. Together, we make a pretty amazing team! I wanted to share some portraits of the brides now that they're  all shacked up :)

New Business Card!

I kept the same design but decided it was time to drop Photographer off the heading. As much as I love it, that's not what I'm booking clients for. I honestly feel that my passion for Makeup Artistry has far surpassed my passion for Photography.

Curlicues and Confections at Passport For Fashion

A few weeks ago, two lovely ladies came in wanting to get their makeup done for an upcoming event that Saturday. I warned them that it was Prom season (CRAZY) and that we were pretty much booked but I had no problem coming out and doing their makeup. Nila of Curlicues and Confections and her best friend Camille were participating in the Passport For Fashion Event at Reel Works Studio and had an intricate candy dress walk down the runway!

I had a wonderful time working with such fun and down the earth ladies. I'm so glad that I was able to participate- I hope I can do this again next year! Here are some photos from the event:

Porter Garner Imprinted Image Photography

Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with established local photographer Porter Garner. I was very impressed with his work and had been interested in working with him for a while. The images turned out great, better than I would have thought! Dawn dyed her hair just a few hours before so the intense red popped like crazy in the photos. 

The entire team was great and I look forward to working with everyone again!

I had the pleasure of working with Julie, a lovely Bride-to-be her engagement session with Sunny of Themba Imagery. I truly enjoyed working with Julie because she was sweet, down to earth, and I'm thrilled to be doing her makeup on her big day as well! Julie and Artie are both so photogenic, I know they won't look anything less than stunning on their Wedding Day.

I had the pleasure of working with the very talented photographer Marie Killen of Marie Killen Photography a few weeks ago along with one of my good friends from college Anna Hassell. I had such a great time working with these ladies, I look forward to teaming up again in the future!

Halloween

This client was the Ringmaster of the Circus in her Halloween group.

My co-worker and his boyfriend went as "Flaming Homosexuals", love it right? I don't know how my Halloween post slipped my mind but better late than never!

Austin & Chris

In the beginning of September, I had the pleasure of doing makeup for a lovely bride that I've know since college. Both of them are amazingly talented, Chris is a photographer, Austin a writer and both are getting their Masters at that! The feel of the wedding was nothing short of southern and sweet. The wedding felt like a Winthrop reunion because I was able to catch up with people that I haven't since Graduation. Photography was done by friend and fellow Winthrop Alum Dustin Shores and the photos are just stunning!

I loved the blue dress she wore for the shoot, it was almost goddess like in the way it flowed. I decided to do a sultry brown smoky eye, soft pink lips, and peachy cheeks. I think the outcome was fabulous, it was like I was seeing a side of my friend that I've never before.

Back to Reality With New Makeup

New York was amazing, I seriously can't get enough of that city. Even though Hurricane Irene put a slight damper on our trip, we still made the best of a stormy situation. The two days we were "stormed" in we watched several movies, had late night dance parties, ate way too much takeout, drank way too much vodka, and had some much needed bonding/relaxation time. It was so good to see Leah, Subreen and I missed her so much. Coming back to Charlotte and getting back into the swing of things was difficult. I loved having public transportation right outside my door and always having something different to do. I'm truly ready to move and I refuse to let anything get in the way of that. NYC 2012! At the moment, I have my sights set on transferring to the 5th Ave. or Soho locations. Here are some of my favorite photos from the trip:

Our last day Subreen and I had a late flight so we made sure to do some serious shopping before we left. Sephora, H&M, and Inglot got the bulk of my money but I left with some awesome purchases. I got this palette from Inglot that I custom created. All the shadows including the pan came out to about $45.

The last time I was in NYC, I told myself that I was going to make a palette and I'm so happy I was able to do that in store. The pigments are fantastic! They also have US shipping now which they didn't have before so anyone interested should check it out! Another line that I love that we don't carry at our location is Illamasqua.I bought these two items:

Blush: Tweak  Lipgloss: Intense Lipgloss in Hermetic

The blush is a reddish pink (matte) and the lipgloss is a rich burgundy plum. Those two have been my staple items over the past few weeks. I'm ready for Fall so that I can wear a dark lip on a daily basis.
